Life and Times of the 18th Century

Andy Cheney brings to life through his portrayals, characters such as:

Ebenezer Webster, a little known 18th century soldier, settler and family man of Salisbury, New Hampshire.

Joseph Martin Plumb, a Private in the fledgling Continental Army, feeding off the taste of freedom with little more than the shirt on his back.

Stories of animals, Indians, danger, and fun.

Andy has been entertaining and educating with his historical tales, since joining the Central NH Storytelling Guild in 2002.

Andy was not fond of history in his teen years, but later discovered that history could be fun, if you can 'live it.' He and his family joined the ranks of many history lovers in the wonderful world of historical re-enacting, or 'living history,' 8 years ago. Andy's excitement about colonial life, grew into storytelling, where he weaves stories of his own experience and imagination along with actual historical accounts.

Andy's stories are engaging as he paints, with words, a portrait of life in New England in the mid 1700's. He will introduce you to characters not always found in the history books and perhaps share a few new things about those who are. Marvel at the honor and graciousness of brave men and women of the times.

Andy has presented his unique program at libraries, elementary schools, high schools, local historical societies, storytelling festivals, as well as at Audubon campfires, and reenactments around New England. He has participated in several storytelling events with the Central NH Storytelling Guild, including the annual Tellabration!
